Application Writing Process with Your Coach
Although our approach is customized to each individual, here is the general process we use to write a cover letter and resume that showcases your top skills and to help you to succeed in your next interview:
1) Assessment and Introductory Meeting
- You complete assessment questionnaires.
- Your coach schedules one-hour meeting to discuss your goals, challenges and detailed career history.
2) Base Resume and Cover Letter
- Your coach develops a draft resume/cover letter and, with your feedback, finalizes the base application, which can be used for non-solicited job applications.
3) Target Search for Suitable Jobs
- You and your coach develop a list of suitable job opportunities and you both source several potential job ads.
4) Customized Cover Letter for a Specific Job
- Your coach develops a cover letter customized to meet the qualifications of a specific job, which you can update for other applications.
- Your coach can develop customized versions of the cover letter for different fields, or for public or private sector.
Interview Skills Coaching
1) Introductory Interview
- Your coach conducts an initial one-hour discussion to determine your goals, challenges and target position.
2) Sample Interview Questions
- You and your coach source job ads for your target position and your coach develops sample interview questions related to the position.
3) Interview Stories
- With the detailed worksheets provided by your coach, to write detailed, point-form responses to behaviour-based questions.
4) Mock Interviews
- Your coach conducts a series of 3 mock interviews by phone or video to provide detailed feedback on how to improve the content and delivery of the responses.
